As much as we try to credit ourselves for our actions, the truth is that there is a degree of influence from others and society in every decision we make. Social norms affect how we behave. For example, it may be appropriate to scream and cheer during a sports game, however, the same behavior would be quite inappropriate at a funeral. Within this section, we will discuss various social factors that influence our daily behaviors. We will end the section with discussion about socialization.
The contents within this section closely follow the AAMC section: Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior Section: Content Category 7B.
