As transportation becomes easier and more common, populations are becoming more and more diverse. Demographics refers to the structure of populations including topics such as age, race, ethnicity, and gender. As societies and individuals change, these demographic characteristics are also changing. This section covers the structure and characteristics of demographics and introduces the concepts of demographic transition.
The contents within this section closely follow the AAMC section: Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior Section: Content Category 9B.
