The human brain is a complex organ which still has many unsolved mysteries. However, throughout the years we have gained information on several important mental processes. Within this section, we cover several topics covered on the MCAT including cognition, attention, consciousness (and lack-of), memory, language, and sleep. We also discuss some major psychological theories pertaining to cognition such as Piaget’s Stages of Cognitive Development.

The contents within this section closely follow the AAMC section: Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior Section: Content Category 6B.
