What is the MCAT
MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test) is a science-based standardized exam required for admission by most medical school in USA and Canada. It consists of biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and critical analysis sections. Click here for more information. This website provides resources for the updated 2015 MCAT exam.
MCAT Prep Courses
MCATAid was created by a student who saw the need for an accurate, straight-to-the-point review for the MCAT exam, which is available to everyone for free.
While prep courses are definitely appropriate in certain situations, they cost thousands of dollars which is simply not feasible for every student. MCATAid aims to provide accurate information, strictly following the official AAMC MCAT content outline for every student without the financial barrier.
The urge to jump right into a prep course can be quite strong. Prep courses are definitely helpful, and I recommend one to those who are financially able and have a weak background in science. However, there are ample resources available for self-study otherwise.
Can I Ace The MCAT Just By Using This Guide?
Probably not. The MCAT is designed to test your ability to critically apply theoretical knowledge in an article based manner. This resource is just a starting step to refresh and guide your self-studying. Look up content you are weak or unclear on and follow the Khan Academy Video Resources. When you have thoroughly understood the content, spend your time finishing practice exams and thoroughly reviewing them. The key is to balance theory and application.
